导语：Institute of Sutric and Tantric Scriptures of Gochen Monastery

Located in the Luhuo region of Kham in Tibet, the sacred site of the speech aspect of the compassionate Avalokiteshvara, where the six syllable mantras naturally manifest on the mountain, the holy place endowed with supreme blessings, the monastery that is foretold in the Terma of Hayagriva, Gochen Monastery of the Palyul Lineage of Nyingmapa is a pure place of practice that has endured over 800 years of history. The monastery is home to about 300 monks and around 80 monks study at its Buddhist Institute (Shedra). The venerable Lobsang Tenzin Rinpoche has taken upon himself the responsibility of building the Shedra for the student monks, employing Khenpos for teachings, and providing the long-term support of food and clothing needs of these student monks.

Venerable Lobsang Rinpoche has also made the aspiration to provide education for the temple, and to those out-of-school children in the surrounding neighbourhood. To accomplish this wish, Rinpoche has undertaken the burden and costs of building a Love & Care school and employing teachers.

In addition, Rinpoche has plans for the construction of a guest house in the temple for the accommodation of the practitioners who come to request dharma teachings, and the construction of a kitchen in the temple for use during major ceremonies and summer rain retreats.  

All these projects and the maintenance of the infrastructure of the monastery will require huge amount of funding. We would welcome everyone to help and assist with these projects and to sanctify the monastery.

a.Offerings to Student Monks

Shedra of Gochen Monstery has enrolled around 80 student monks, all of them are carefully selected by Rinpoche and they have incomparable wisdom, and are diligent in Study, Reflection and Meditation. There are one khenpo, who are alternatively selected from the Khenpos at the Five Science Buddhist College of Gochen Monastery in Serdag of Larong every two years. The school terms at the Shedra go year round and there are no summer or winter holidays.

Rinpoche plans on giving each student monk RMB 100 Yuan every month. To a monastery like Gochen which focus is on Study, Reflection and Meditation, this is quite a considerable amount of money. This is a great opportunity to make donations to the field of merit, to sustain the holy dharma, and to plant the seeds for pure liberation. We welcome your donations.
